Celebrating International Women’s Day at Marcura

“We are particularly proud that 26% of our senior positions are held by women, and we remain committed to creating a workplace where all employees, regardless of their gender or background, have equal opportunities to grow and succeed. In just four years, we have increased the representation of women in our team from 19% to 31%, and we will continue to work towards achieving even greater gender diversity.

“On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of women around the world and the contributions they make to our industry. We are inspired by their resilience, creativity, and leadership, and we are committed to supporting them every step of the way.

“We will continue to foster an inclusive and diverse workplace where all employees can thrive and reach their full potential.

What does embracing equity mean to you?

To mark International Women’s Day and the #EmbraceEquity theme for this year, we asked some of our team members to share what embracing equity means to them.

“I am proud to work in a company that empowers the voice, progression, and achievement of women. It has been gratifying to observe and support women within a typically male-dominated industry, to be recognised and championed to achieve amazing things.

“To me, embracing equity means embracing a ‘round table’ setting where everyone is valued for simply being who they are. Women make up half of the world’s population. It is important to see more women in positions of power so future generations will have female role models to look up to.

“During a Townhall Meeting when I first joined, our CEO commented that our female employee percentage was not up to the mark, and it was the company’s target to get this up. I was pleased to hear these comments, and 2 years later I am now happy to see our executives make good on that promise.”
