DA-Desk’s Mordhorst Promoted to Marcura Group COO


The Marcura Group, a Dubai-based group of companies focused on providing innovative business solutions to the maritime industry, today announced that it has promoted Hans-Christian Mordhorst to Group Chief Operations Officer.

Mordhorst has served since 2012 at Marcura’s flagship company, DA-Desk, where he will also continue in his role as Managing Director.

SYVR Selects Marcura to Deliver Compliance Services


SYVR (www.syvr.org), a platform for matching shipping companies and insurance companies with high quality marine surveyors globally, has appointed Marcura (www.marcura.com) to deliver KYC and compliance screening.

SYVR is being launched with an initial focus on marine insurance, specifically H&M, P&I and cargo surveys. Surveyors are assessed based on a uniform set of qualifications criteria before they are included into a global marine expert community and listed on the platform. The shipping company users, the insurance company users as well as the surveyors will undergo a baseline due diligence, verification and sanctions screening process before being allowed access to the platform.

ShipServ and MarTrust partner to simplify international maritime payments

August, 2017 (London, UK) – ShipServ, the world’s largest procurement platform for the marine industry, has entered into a close partnership with MarTrust, a Marcura Group company. MarTrust is a global payments provider focused entirely on the maritime industry. The aim of the partnership is to make it easier for ship operators and managers to vet suppliers and make international payments. 

MarTrust can provide ShipServ customers with independent compliance checks, bank account vetting and validation, as well as process payments for the benefit of the 65,000 suppliers trading on the ShipServ platform. These due diligence and compliance checks are critical to processing the payments in accordance with increasingly complex financial regulations.

DA-Desk Announces Collaboration with the Chemical Distribution Institute (CDI) to Increase Transparency in the Maritime Industry

June 2017 (London, UK | Dubai, UAE) – DA-Desk FZ-LLC, the largest independent provider of port cost management services, and the Chemical Distribution Institute (CDI), a non-profit chemical industry organization pushing to improve the safety and performance of transportation and storage for the chemical industry, today announced their partnership via the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to share relevant data relating to CDI’s “International Marine Packed Cargo Audit Scheme” (IMPCAS).
